Our North West GC Fundraiser

Your contribution makes a big difference. Thank you

1891 was a momentous year for golf in Ireland; it was then that North West Golf Club was established, followed a few months later by the formation of the Golfing Union of Ireland. As we approach the final days of the GUI and approach the formation of Golf Ireland, it is with great pride and a sense of history that we can claim to have been one of the nine clubs who set the ball rolling way back then.

The years that followed have seen North West grow into the club we have today. There have been many obstacles along the way, world wars, recessions, a continual battle against erosion and now the world-wide Covid19 pandemic. Great credit is due to Councils, past and present, who have worked tirelessly in the interest of North West Golf Club, and to the members who support the club as best they can.

But we can’t rest on our laurels. There is always more to do as we look forward to a return to “normality.” To that end we are hoping to establish an online club lotto which will bring in much needed revenue and help us maintain and improve our facility at North West. We hope that members will come on board to support and promote this initiative and, you never know, you might be lucky along the way!

Any revenue raised will go towards improvements in the clubhouse, shoring up our coastal defences, developing the links and it will ease the strain on membership fees.

Thank you in advance for your continued support as we strive to make our “playground” the best it can be for us and future generations.
